I Knew There Was a God! "Empire" Brothers Cover Essence Magazine

Having Cookie withdrawals? Need your Luscious fix? Craving some Boo Boo Kitty? You’ll have to wait until the fall for Empire to return but expect to see more episodes.

No, really! Instead of 12 episodes, you will have 18 to keep you busy with the Lyon family shenanigans. Empire is also keeping its regular timeslot, Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox. Season 2 will be divided in half, building more excitement and momentum for the drama. “We don’t want to be greedy, if we came back with the audience we left off with we’d be thrilled,” Fox Television Group Co-Chairman and CEO Dana Walden said.

Wait, there’s more.

Jussie Smollett (Jamal) and Bryshere Gray (Hakeem) stopped by Good Morning America announcing future appearances by Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz and Denzel Washington. The Lyon brothers are working overtime promoting next season, landing a cover on Essence Magazine which hits stores next month.

Elder brother Andre, played by Trai Byers has killer looks and not ashamed of them! He spilled to Essence why he takes his physical fitness so seriously. “I work out for two reasons: one, because I’m an actor and two, because I’m somebody’s [future] husband. I want to be prepared for the woman God has for me.”

Chris Rock is also slated to guest star. Singer-songwriter and all-around musical genius Ne-Yo will lend his skills to the music.

Season 2 of Empire is sure to have even more twists, turns and hella good music just like we enjoyed in season 1. We should all start a prayer circle for the return of Malik Yoba’s character. Vernon went home to glory and my heart is forever broken. Maybe Uncle Lee Daniels will revive his character. I never saw a body. Did you?
