Good Morning America host, Robin Roberts knows all too well about possessing determination and having a plan to arrive at her idea of success. Roberts’ journey began with a deep love for sports and an immense desire to showcase her talent professionally. Inside Entertainment Weekly’s “My Journey” series, the 54-year-old recounts her goal to play at Wimbledon and how she got there in an unlikely way, receiving the best payoff.
Reflecting on her successful career thus far, Roberts adds, “I’m a black, gay woman. You’ve got to think differently and things are going to be difficult. I’m not crying about it and I’m not whining about it. I acknowledge and say to myself … find a way and I think that’s what I’ve done all my life I’ve found a way to achieve goals that I’ve set for myself.”
See her inspiring video and her tearful memories of who she credits most with indirectly paving the way for her worldwide success.
Robin is full of passion and great wisdom. Her book, From the Heart: Eight Rules to Live By is my personal favorite for anyone needing an extra push to validate their ambitions. It is undoubtedly worth adding to your collection.
