I absolutely love Hi-Five! They had some of the catchiest hits in the 90’s. I was only familiar with “I Like the Way (The Kissing Game)” and “She’s Playing Hard to Get”. Those were definitely my jams. I was just a kid when they reached their height on the charts, so I just remember the two that played in constant rotation on the radio.
Unsung on TV One just exposed to me to Hi-Five’s wonderful discography. I had no clue that they had so many good songs. Love songs at that and you know I’m a sucker for a good ballad! They even had a few top 10 hits. On a deeper note, I was unaware of the unfortunate events that the group experienced. Watching their autobiography really opened my eyes to their story. Groups like New Edition and Boyz II Men definitely overshadowed this talented group of young men.
Despite the tragedy and turmoil, they deserve a mention in my book!
