7 Faces We Made as Kids When We Got in Trouble

Children have deceived their parents since the beginning of time. You remember the growing pains of life when you thought you were slick, but your parents were one step ahead of the game. Here are seven faces that we made growing up the moment we were caught red-handed.

1. THE “I DON’T KNOW WHAT YOU’RE TALKING ABOUT” FACE

Whenever you were first caught in the act, your initial instinct is to plead the fifth. Playing dumb always seemed like a good idea.

2. THE “I THINK THEY BOUGHT IT” FACE

That moment when you tell a lie so good that you actually start believing it yourself.

3. THE “DAMN YOU’RE GOOD” FACE

You’ve had enough chances to come clean, which have all been unsuccessful. Your parents know the truth. More importantly you were dishonest. Shit has officially gotten real.

4. THE “LISTEN, I CAN EXPLAIN” FACE

After they’ve called you out. You try to clean it up, but it’s just too late.

5. THE “LOSS FOR WORDS” FACE

At this point, you’re dead meat. You have run out of every possible fabrication in your head. You’ve really dug yourself a hole. If only a State Farm Agent could come save you.

6. THE “I CAN’T BREATHE, THE PRESSURE IS TOO MUCH” FACE

You try to fight it, but the tears just wouldn’t cooperate.

7. THE “I LET YOU DOWN” FACE

Instead of a spanking, you get a lecture. Nothing bruises quite like the words, “I’m disappointed in you”. And now you’re dismissed to your room. Feelings so hurt.
